The Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital was established in 1953 with the help of Philip, South Dakota rancher and philanthropist, Hans P. Peterson. Peterson deeded his ranch so that a hospital could be built to serve our rural area, and members of the community joined together to raise funds to complete it.
Philip Health Services now encompasses a complete health care facility with a hospital, medical clinic, nursing home, assisted living center, satellite clinic in Kadoka and many other services. Located midway between Rapid City and Pierre, just north of Interstate 90, Philip Health Services has become a health care destination for the rural communities of western South Dakota.
We are especially proud of our $3.2 million remodeling and renovation project in 2002, which was made possible by the support of the citizens of Philip, surrounding communities and a contribution from our health care partners at Regional Health. Philip Health Services remains a community-owned health care facility that offers a multitude of services including emergency care 24 hours a day. We are proud of the extra care that we provide for patients and their families, and look forward to meeting your health care needs.
The medical providers at Philip Health Services bring a wealth of knowledge and a commitment to exceptional care to every patient interaction. With over 100 years of combined medical experience, this talented team is proud to be at your service. Our providers will always take new patients, and make every effort to see you as soon as possible when you call for an appointment.
