A wide range of medical services is available at the R.J. Talty Medical Center, known as the Philip Clinic. We offer care and treatment for many chronic medical problems, such as hypertension, diabetes, elevated cholesterol and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The clinic also provides family health care and general health management, including:

Medical emergencies are treated 24 hours a day at Philip Health Services. One of our medical providers is on-call at all times to see patients in the emergency department. We also work closely with Philip Ambulance Service and LifeFlight air ambulance service to assure rapid transport of critical cases to other facilities after the patient is stabilized. Patients with routine or non-emergency conditions are encouraged to schedule an appointment to see a provider during regular clinic hours. If you need emergency care, please dial 911.

Our endeavor is to deliver immediate and accurate test results to be able to contribute to the quality patient care in the community and its neighboring towns.

Philip Health Services Inc – Laboratory uses Clinical Laboratory of the Black Hills, Monument Health Laboratory, Sanford Laboratories, State Health Laboratory, and University of Hygienic Lab as referral laboratories for our most complex testing needs.

Our Diagnostic Imaging Department works closely with the radiologists at Dakota Radiology and the Cardiac Services of Monument Health, both located in Rapid City, South Dakota.  Radiology exams are transmitted through electronically to our PACs system and then interpreted by a radiologist from Dakota Radiology from 7am -10:30pm.  After reading hours, CT exams are transmitted to a teleradiology site for an interpretation (at no cost to the patient).  A Dakota Radiology radiologist will perform an overread the following day.  All radiology fees are billed directly from Dakota Radiology.  Dakota Radiology can be reached at (605) 342-2852.

EKG and Holter monitors are transmitted to Monument Health for interpretation by a Monument Health cardiologist.  Pediatric EKG’s are then transferred to Children’s Hospital & Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska, for a Pediatric Cardiologist’s interpretation.

**The Diagnostic Imaging capabilities of Philip Health Services allows many patients to have both routine and advanced medical care without leaving town.

The Diagnostic Imaging department is staffed Monday thru Friday 7am – 5:30pm.    There is on call staff all other times.

Philip Health Services has developed a strong rehabilitation team which currently consists of Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology services. The assimilation of this team has allowed us to expand the services and programs offered working towards our mission of providing comprehensive care to the people of Philip and the surrounding communities. We provide care across multiple settings including Acute Hospital, Skilled Swing Bed, Nursing Home and Assisted Living, and within our Outpatient Department.

Our therapy staff has a combination of extensive post-graduate education, Specialty Certification, and many years of clinical experience in the areas of Orthopedic Care, Sports Medicine, Neurological Conditions, Cardiovascular Conditions, and Geriatric Care.

Dr. David Holman comes to Philip from Grand Forks, North Dakota, where he completed his bachelor’s degree, doctor of medicine, and medical residency at the University of North Dakota. He has been a family practice physician at Philip Health Services since 1999, with special interests in emergency care and maternal-fetal medicine. In his free time he enjoys hunting and sports. Dr. Holman is married with three children.
